It's freaky to think about how powerful your brain can be. I don't mean all those dates or numbers or things for school or tests, but rather the way it can determine how you will be and perform at that moment, that day, in that event and the things you will accomplish. We hear phrases like " Positive begets positive", and "if you think you can or if you can't, you are probably correct." It's because your mindset has the sole ability to set your foundation for ANY and ALL activities you do. If you watch people that are experts in their field do their tasks, whatever it might be, they don't look nervous or scared or show any concern that it won't work or that there will be some epic failure. They seem calm, and their movements and actions look effortless as they do whatever it is they do. They are in a flow state. Maybe it's a little bit of a routine thing but the actions are positive. That confidence comes from the repetition of the actions, and in the positive mindset they have and have had while they are doing it. They had to get to a place where they could believe they would be successful, and much of that comes from starting with having positive thoughts and beliefs about themselves and their abilities. It's not to say you falsely think you can do everything but rather that you believe that you will be ok no matter what happens. It's concentrating on those positive thoughts rather than being scared or bummed or thinking you will never make it or that you can't do it. This positive change in your mindset takes so much weight and worry out of the equation that now you just get to perform. And even if it's not successful, the learning curve will be much quicker to that success. This mindset takes work but like anything else, repetition of this mindset will make it easier for it to be the normal mindset of the day. So before you start your day, sit for a second. Take a slow sip of your coffee and think about how good it tastes, make your bed, maybe give yourself 10 minutes of some breathing and calming of the head and then open your eyes with a smile on your face and start the day in a positive light. It doesn't matter what is going on, or how much you have to do, or the tasks you have, or even how impossible they might appear. Start and stay in a positive mindset about YOU and then get after it with a smile on your face. It will be MUCH better and you will be more successful than you thought you could:)
