I saw a post the other day by Justin Su'a that said, "Struggle promotes growth. Failure is feedback. Adversity forges strength. Losing is an opportunity to learn. Setbacks set up comebacks." At first, I was thinking, dang Justin...ok we get it. We hear these phrases all the time. And usually, we hear just as a single statement. But what got me on this one was the fact that he kept going with the statements. And I laughed because I felt like he was describing my world right now. Lots of struggles. Sure no one likes struggle but that's honestly how life is. It's not one failure and then you hit the mothership of success. Its fail, after fail, after fail, and hopefully, learn, after learn, after learn. There will be many issues, roadblocks, failures, adversities, etc that will jump right into your face. And I mean even every day. You need to change your view of "non"-success. Wins are much less frequent that loses so we can't fear losing or failing. That being said, I HATE to lose or to fail, but if you can change your mindset on what it is then you can make it a positive thing. Use the things you learn from them. Use the drive you get from having things not handed to you. Use the experience you got so that you don't make those mistakes again and you will be many steps ahead of where you have ever been before! So what that post from Us'a told me was this: the list of bumps will be long and I will get up every single time from them because that's just what you have to do to make it. Don't keep a running total of how many non-successes there are. It's not important. Just keep getting back up, every time. When that is your normal, then success will happen. :)
