The only thing that is constant in life is change. We are so good at trying to keep a state of equilibrium in everything we do: we figure out our routine of what to eat and we keep it, we figure what bands we like to use when we do pull-ups and we stay there, we know where we like to go and hang out so that is where we always go. We keep the routines and our "normals" because then we know things are "in order". But since our lives are in constant flux, with hundreds of variables swapping and changing at a moments notice, our world isn't staying the same at all. It changes all the time. There will be micro changes like your favorite peanut butter pretzels being discontinued to big changes like moving to a new town, or getting a new job or losing someone special. The fact is these things will ALWAYS happen. But with changes, there is always an opportunity for growth, in fact, it's more of "you don't have a choice but to grow". Many of the big changes are scary mostly because of the unknown that's on the other side. So how are you supposed to make it when you have no idea what's coming up? First, realize that no matter what the change is, it will be ok. You will make it and do just fine. Have confidence in yourself. Next, don't put massive expectations of what the new change should look like. Sure there may be some things we want to see happening, but it's a blank slate so let it unfold and take it as it comes rather trying to fit a square peg into a round hole. Finally, we all were meant for great things. No matter if the change is an apparent "good" or "bad" change, it's something that will make you better than what you are right now. It might be a new skill you develop, some different insight on a situation, more tools in your tool bag for later, force you to overcome a fear, or help you to get to the next step so that you have a strong foundation for next big change (that you might not even know is coming). But you have to roll with it! Have the basic plan you are looking for then as the changes happen, keep a cool head. Smile and let yourself change with the situation. It will be ok. In fact, the change that happening might just be one of the greatest turning points in your entire life! :)
