Your body is an amazing machine. It is the MASTER compensator/compromiser and is working all the time to bring some sort of regularity to your world. It will compromise other systems so that your primary system is able to function. For example, take eating Paleo. I'm an Italian and I love my pasta an bread. We know that wheat and grains have a natural toxin to our system and we were designed genetically not to eat them. Now when I say toxin, I don't mean that a slice of whole wheat will kill you. I mean that your body will have to deal with that toxin somehow. When I did super paleo diet before, say 3 months of eating really clean, and went home for Christmas, my mom made her lasagne and I decided I was going to eat old school style. The food tasted amazing and there wasn't a bunch of crap in it at all. It was all good food: Lasagne, garlic bread, vegetables, salad, etc. Within 20 minutes of eating, my head was spinning, my stomach felt weird, and I felt....drunk. Not like the fun giggly drunk, but the "I've had too many and I'm coming down" drunk. The next day I had a headache but finally was feeling better. A hangover basically. The way I was feeling was my body's reaction to the non-paleo food. It was the toxins in the wheat and grain that affected me the way it did. But I never felt that before. That's because my body always compensated for it and would just deal. It was always there but my body made it the "normal" so I didn't even realize it. We do this everything. Think about your normals of your day. Are they really the normals you want or are they just things you're dealing with and compensating around. You have the power to control the things in your world. Maybe not all the outside variable and actions of others but how you deal with it. If there is something toxic in your world and you have been dealing with it, either remove it or do what you can to not respond to that toxicity. You don't need to get angry because someone is doing stupid stuff around you. If it's not affecting you then let it go. Do waste energy trying to compensate around it or get involved in it. Remove it, or your responses to it, and let your body deal with more important things. Your systems can make your body handle so many different things and make them normal but it takes a toll. Save that energy for the good stuff:)
