It's pretty amazing how there are all those fancy little sayings out there that are truer than they really seem. Take the phrase, "you get out what you put into it". It's AMAZING how you can overlook the absolute truth of this because of its very trendy and Instagram friendly sound. But the fact is that you DO get out of WHATEVER you are doing based on what you put into it. This means your workouts, your diets, your job, your relationships, your savings, your skill development, etc. If you want something to be better or you want to be better, then you MUST put time and energy into it. That's the ONLY way you will be better. We have a tendency to just hope that it gets better but we won't put the work into it to really get better. And worse yet, we do "stuff", like thinking about it, planning for it, searchings articles on it, researching it, etc thinking that that will count. Basically getting all kinds of information but then never really doing anything with it. So you FEEL like you have been putting the time in when in reality its only very passive time. Honestly, not very efficient time at all. There needs to be ACTION. Plans are great but if there is no action, then it's just scribbled notes on a napkin. And that's only good for blowing your nose. You need to spend time practicing. You need time learning the skills. You need time failing and reassessing and trying again. You need time gaining experience. You need all of this so that you can BE whatever it is you are wanting to BE. Put the time in. Put a lot of time in. Then, and only then, will you get a lot out of it!! :)
