We have these goals we want to hit. We can actually see ourselves in the position, what we would look like at a particular weight, what I would feel like to win this event, what it would be like having this job or that job, or any other goal. These goals are SUPPOSED to be high!! We have talked before how I feel that you NEED to shoot for the stars rather than picking these "easily attainable" marks. But there is a caveat to this. You have to realize that you are working on progress toward your goal rather than not hitting perfection of your goal. The thing with perfection is that there isn't one. Let me repeat that....THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS PERFECT!! If you realize this then you decrease the chances of feeling like you are less than, inferior, or unable to achieve whatever it is you are trying to achieve. The thing is that PROGRESS is what it's all about. The plan should be 1% improvement everyday or training opportunity. This is progress! It might seem like nothing at all but over the course of some time, it's a HUGE improvement. What's crazy is that you can actually end up going past where you THOUGHT the perfect spot was. Perfect is a made-up position or place in your head, but progress is a train that can keep moving forward and go to some pretty incredible places. Keep your thoughts and your energy on PROGRESS. Leave perfection for the movies:)
