The fact is that it is basically impossible to take all the stress and irritants out of your life. You can't pick how people will act or what they will do. You have zero control over it. The ONLY thing you have is the choice of how you will react or respond to them. It doesn't matter how many shitty things are going on at one time. You don't have an excuse to let it get to you. You NEED to be able to keep it all at bay by NOT letting yourself get overly emotional about it. If someone is being a complete piece of shit let them. That's THEIR thing. Not yours. If you are dealing with a ton of crap at work, don't waste time or energy wishing it was different. Just do what you need to do to get through the pieces. Getting pissed doesn't make anything happen faster. In fact, it will bind you up more than anything else. If you are in a situation you don't like, instead of bitching about it or complaining about it, change it. Figure out what steps you need to take and then do them. Even if you look in all directions and things seem bad, there is ALWAYS a better way to get after it, handle it, or deal with it. Getting pissed, losing your cool, yelling, thinking what-ifs, or wishing it was different are just wastes of time. And the worse things get, the more focused you need to be. You are 100% in control of yourself and your thoughts. Things and people don't make you feel a certain way. YOU make yourself feel how you feel. Since that's the case, CHOOSE to smile, to be happy, to aggressively attack the issues in a positive manner and make things happen! It's all up to you!! :)
