Excuses are like assholes...EVERYONE has one. The problem with them is that its the "excusee" trying to explain the reasons they either did something or couldn't do something. Its a justification for the wrong thing that happened. When in reality, the only time this needs to be given is if someone ASKS WHY. Then you can tell them why. But if you have to throw that out there first, then its because YOU know you messed up or you aren't willing to take responsibility for it. Really no one cares the reasons. So own up to it. But with that being said one of my favorite things about CrossFit is that there is a task presented and you might be good at it, you might be shitty at it, or you might be good at some parts and shitty at other parts. But the challenge of still needing to complete the task is there. What I love about this so much is that its real life. Life doesn't care if you are young or old, rich or poor, strong or weak, short or tall, sick or healthy, etc. All IT knows is that you have a situation and you have to do something with it. Maybe its an emergency, someone you love is hurt and needs help. You have to do something.....even if you don't have the skills to do anything. If you don't then you have to think of something. You have to use your strengths to fill in the weakness you have. If there a flood in your house, you will have to do something! What if you cant swim, you will still have to figure something out otherwise it might be a REALLY bad day. A workout has to be seen the same way. You will have strengths and weakness. It will be your job to utilize the strengths to get through the workout the best you can. Doesn't mean its perfect, but it may just be YOUR way and that's ok. Just get in there and get shit done! Execute your strengths, be smart, and get through it! :)
