I was listening to a pretty interesting podcast the other day called the Warriors Way.  The topic was on the difference between FACT and TRUTH.  These were how they were defined:  FACTs are just that....the actual facts.  No opinion.  No bias. Just information.  TRUTH is the way we interpret those facts.  Think about that for a sec.  When we listen to the news or basically ANY reporting information on tv or the internet, any side of the discussion can make the case that their view is the truth.  Yet the facts on either side are the same.  How is possible? These news sources are doing it fire up the people on their side of the fence and "prove the others" wrong.  But we do this EXACT same thing to ourselves.  Let's take the last OPEN workout.  Dead Lifts, HSPUS and HS Walks.  If you have done the weight and the rep set of deadlifts pretty easy in the past but have never done a HSPU then the facts are just that:  you have a high percentage of being able to complete the deads but you haven't done a HSPU...YET.  Both are the facts.  NO opinions or bias.  So is it TRUTH that you will not be able to get past the hspu?  Only if you DECIDE that that is the truth.  If there is the possibility that you can do one or make it through, then the TRUTH hasn't be written as a yes or no on the hspu.  You have to change the way you interpret and then believe the facts.  I know you have heard about the "glass half full or half empty" and "looking at the world through rose-colored glasses" well these statements are true.  If you change the way you see it, then you can change the TRUTH.  The truth doesn't have to be an absolute NO.  The truth might be that you haven't yet, but you are going to give it all you have in the remaining time to get even just ONE hspu.  The human mind is crazy because we can actually trick our own brain and con ourselves into doing things that we might not have thought we could on another day.  So when you are presented with a set of facts, be smart about how you interpret them and set it up to be in your best interest.  ALWAYS give yourself a chance. Because as long as there is a chance, then you ALWAYS have a chance!:)
