There are times when we are overly sensitive to everyone around us.  How many times have you done something for yourself and then felt like you had to apologize for doing it?  I understand if you realize that it messes someone up or its a real accident but I'm not talking about that.  I'm talking about when you are doing something for you, or your dream, or your family, or something that is important to you.  You might have a feeling of guilt because you are "being selfish".  You might hear people say things like, "you don't put this or that as a priority in your life."  "It's obvious your priority isn't this other thing."  When I was a lifeguard, we used to teach that if you're making a rescue and someone is going to go into the piling, it would be the victim.  Sure that sounds mean BUT if the rescuer gets fucked up then NOBODY is making a rescue and they both go down.  What about your family life?  Our kids are the most important things in the world to us.  BUT If you aren't healthy, you aren't eating right, you get sick, you end up not being able to function correctly, then who is taking care of the kids?  If we are messed up then THEY have to end up taking care of us.  Now obviously I'm not talking about letting the kids do whatever they want so you can go work out for hours, or that they don't get clothes to wear because you are trying to buy the most expensive grass-fed beef for your macros.  But you NEVER need to apologize or feel bad because you are doing something you need to for you.  If your workout is something that will make you a better you, then take your hour to get your workout in!  Your child may have to wait an hour but they will then get a much happier, better parent.  If you NEED to run or to surf to clear your head, then do it.  This way you can go back to your work without feeling you are missing something out on something and you will be focused on what you have to do.  Don't EVER apologize or feel guilty about doing what you NEED to do for you!  :)
