We all know Crossfit right? So then if I ask you what the goal of the Inferno and Crossfit is, what would you say? The answer is to improve your fitness. And of course, EVERYONE in the health and wellness world will say this. But if this is the case then need to know what fitness is to be able to improve it. Coach Greg Glassman is the ONLY person to actually give fitness a working definition. Fitness: increased work capacity across broad time and modal domains. If you want to really understand this, read his paper WHAT IS FITNESS. This is what made the light flash on in my head. The basic meaning of this is that you have an ability to do ANY task work, life or sport related. This doesn't mean you will be the best. It means you will have less of a weakness in any of the 10 areas of Physical Fitness. EVERYTHING WE DO is geared towards improving your fitness by using Constantly Varied Functional Movements. This doesn't mean it's random. It just means that it's varied so that your body doesn't get used to doing the same thing or the same time domains. Fitness IS what we do!! :)
