There once was a time when running around and playing hard was FUN.  Then around 7 or 8, we start to feel our chest explode as we do things too hard.  Kids will then say they dont want to do it because its not FUN anymore.  But how was it fun before and now its not??  There was a switch somewhere.  But whatever it was, it changed anything that has any discomfort to it, to not be FUN.  I think that what made it fun originally was that we did what we did just for the joy of it.  The love of being able to do whatever.  It wasnt a matter of winning or losing.  It wasnt a something that we HAD to do or forced to do (well maybe it was but we didnt know it yet).  It was just the love of the play.  This is something that we can get back.  We can get past the pain and discomfort if we keep our heads in the right place.  If you look at those "crazy" people who do a super hard workout and then say that it was fun, they have done this.  Part of the fun is to see if they can do this or that, but there isnt a punishment at the end.  They arent afraid of failing at it.  They are excited to accept the challenge and go for it.  Sure it will hurt and they will be uncomfortable but its their choice to be there.  Now that its their choice, they arent freaked out by the pain. They can take it, or at least take WAY more than they would have been able to take.  Yesterday during the INFERNO TOUR, we had members randomly grouped up and do three workouts, one at each of the gyms.  Many pushed MUCH harder than they would have if it was just them, 1) because they were on a team with someone and you never want to let someone down, but 2) because we were all there for fun!  We were all rooting each other on.  It didn't matter if you were the best athlete, the worst athlete, the biggest athlete, the smallest athlete, the youngest athlete or the oldest athlete.  We were all having FUN!  So the next time you are doing something that you know is going to be uncomfortable or have some discomfort with it, find the fun and then go for it.  It will all be ok!! :)
