How do you deal with an injury?  So many people will get hurt, doing whatever, and their thought is to NOT DO ANYTHING!!  Will the pain stop if you cease to do anything.  Sure it will!  But did it fix anything? Probably not.  Now if you tweak your back ot your shoulder, you should give it a day or two to mellow out.  Do all the things we have talked about to bring that inflammation down.  But after that, its time to start attacking the problem parts.  Get in and start your mobilization techniques......AND THEN START MOVING AGAIN!!!  This means that its ok to get back in the gym and start working out.  You can modify the movements by weight, range of motion and reps.  Even if you have to go all the way down to a PVC pipe, you should start retraining the normal range of motion of the injured part.  There are an INFINITE number of ways to make your workout work for you.  PLEASE dont follow the idea of staying away to make it better.  IT WONT:)
