Obviously due to m y history of being  fireman, i have a soft spot for my brothers and sisters in the service.  Even though i dont work for the fire department anymore, i see it as a brotherhood that once you are part of, you re always part of.  What i loved best about it was the sense of team.  That was the whole reason that left teaching to pursue a career with fire.  What i miss most about it is riding in the engine with my guys, to a call, to the ends of the state, to the store, or to workout and just talking.  They were some of the most fin times of my entire life.  Great people, great times, great memories.  However, there is always the chance that you wont come home.  It gets forgotten many days but its true.  You never know what you will be up against each and everyday.  Today we pay tribute to a fallen firefighter.  Arnie Quinones, of LA County Fire, died while at the Station Fire, August 30, 2009.  His engine went over the cliff, falling 800ft.  He had a baby girl born 3 weeks after his death.  I, along with many others, was at this fire also.  RIP brother. FEEL THE BURN!!!!
