Fats versus Carbs.  Yes we need carbs for brain function and some other actions in our body.  But we only really need small amount for those things.  Fats are a MUCH better fuel source and we have MUCH more to pull from in our bodies and in our food.  The fact of the matter is that if you liken our metabolism to a camp fire, then the carbs are the kindling and the fats are the burning logs.  The carbs are fast burning quick fuels, but would you ever make a camp fire with just kindling alone? NO WAY!!  It just wont last very long or be very hot.  But if you can get to the fats, then you will have a very hot burning, long lasting fuel source.  Now I'm not saying you need to ONLY eat fats and not eat carbs, but the lower in sugar the carbs are, the better.  When you increase the amount of sugar in your blood (even if its good natural sugars), you will have an increase in insulin in your blood.  This increase will shut down the ability to use your fat as fuel.  In fact, it actually forces you to store your fat!  As you sit in the realm of being a sugar burner and rely on sugars for fuel, you store more fat.  Of course the sugars burn off fast and then you are hungry and feel run down again. So you eat more, and it forces more stored fat.  See the problem?  So those of you that have done any type of paleo challenge probably hit that rough spot around the 2nd week.  This is that detox time.  It takes time for your body to get used to not rely on sugar for its fuel.  But once you become a fat burner then you can eat fat and use that fat and basically have a pretty unlimited amount of fuel.  SO go have some fat, it does a body good!!

     10 reps Deadlift (275#, 185)

     15 reps Ring Dips

     100m Run




3 Rounds:

     Max Thrusters

     1 minute rest

          *when you do the max thrusters, it MUST be a CONSTANT movement the entire time.  if you pause anywhere, stop anywhere, catch your balance, etc, the round is done.
