Its Thursday and this night always makes me think of the World Famous San Luis Obispo Farmer's Market!  Here you can get all kinds of locally grown vegetables, fruits and nuts, and some really good BBQ also!  I'm really glad that everyone is finally starting to realize the benefits of buying foods that are not from the large chain stores (no offense large chain stores!) which get there foods from VERY large farms.  The problem with these farms is that they pump out all kinds of food quicker, bigger, that last longer but are genetically modified, filled with hormones, or covered in pesticides so much that they end up being dangerous to you.  We must all be careful of those things we see in the stores that say organic, natural, etc.  These are terms that can usually be bought by companies so that the consumers buy more.  Even at farmers markets, we need to be aware of what the farmers are using on their crops, so ASK THEM!!!!  Don't just assume they are wholly natural as if you were planting them yourself!  Same thing goes with meat.  Just because it says "Vegetarian fed" doesn't mean the same thing as "Grass fed".  Remember, Grass Fed Beef is VERY high in Omega 3's and this is very helpful to your body's fight against silent inflammation and other inflammatory diseases!!  On this note, I am in the process of searching out Grass Fed, Free Range, No Hormones Beef ranches here on the Central Coast and seeing about purchasing a carcass.  I am looking for anyone who might be interested in going in with me.  It would probably be about 5-10 people which would give about 30-70 pounds of meat of all cuts.  I'm still new to this but doing the research on it now.  Trying to see what the cheapest options are.  Ill let you know.  If you have ideas, know places or people, or have a comment, post it!!
