"But Bill i hate competition!"  I hear this comment quite a bit.  Why would anyone want to compete?  Putting yourself on the line like that, with the fear of failing or people talking crap about you?  These are many of the thoughts.  The truth is, we are ALWAYS competing.  It may be against a friend for a job, it may be against someone in the gym, it may be against your self to improve something, it may be against the clock to get something completed.  The list goes on and on!  The fact of the matter is that we need to train ourselves to compete and be better competitors.  Not meaning we need to be poor losers or winners.  It means that we need to enjoy the feeling of putting our self on the line and giving everything you have.  That way, win lose or draw, there aren't any bad feelings about it.  You can only do what you can do and if someone wins then they are the better person that day.  It doesn't mean you suck or you are terrible.  So don't ever be afraid to compete.  Its healthy, its needed, and it the best learning tool out there for you.
